Experience Trust Activity

We are women peacebuilders and civil society and humanitarian aid leaders from
across Ukraine and both sides of the front line. We are members of the Women’s
Network for Dialogue and Enduring Peace which we founded in 2015.

We have over a decade of experience in peacebuilding, dialogue and providing support to conflict-affected populations on both sides of the front line.

Our human centered approach aims to protect the lives and well-being of all affected by the conflict, and we are dedicated to ensuring their interests are
represented in the peace process. A human-centered approach can address the needs of all affected communities, prevent future violence and build a sustainable
Peace.

Our mission

Our mission is to contribute to a just and lasting peace in Ukraine, grounded in our expertise and experience as women who live and work with people in conflict-affected areas. In support of our mission, we amplify the voices of local communities, take a human-centered approach to resolving the conflict, and seek the meaningful participation of women and civil society at every stage of the peace process.

Vision

We envision Ukraine and the entire region as a space of sustainable peace, where local communities actively participate in decision-making, the needs of all groups are taken into account, and post-conflict recovery is grounded in justice, mutual respect, and equality.

Our Principles:

Society and women
  • 1
Our human-centered approachOur human-centered approach aims to protect the lives and well-being of all affected by the conflict, and we are dedicated to ensuring their interests are represented in the peace process. A human-centered approach can address the needs of all affected communities, prevent future violence and build a sustainable Peace.
  • 2
Participation of civil society and women at all stages of the negotiation processCivil society from both sides of the frontline, representing the interests of the affected population, must be involved at all stages of the peacebuilding process, including ceasefire agreements, the development and monitoring of the peace agreement, its implementation, and post-war recovery. This is essential to ensure lasting peace.
  • 3
Transparency of the negotiation processIt is important to clearly see who makes decisions and how these decisions are made. This will help legitimize the peace.

Our history

1

We came together in 2015 — at a time when Ukraine was already divided by conflict. Despite this, we kept in touch, communicated, and made plans — while being on opposite sides of the conflict.

2

From the very beginning, it was important for us to connect what had been divided. We spoke about peace, about achieving it, about how to help women survive this war, and about making sure our voices were heard. We said we did not want war — and we continue to say this.

3
All these years we have been learning to listen to each other without taking sides or repeating propaganda. We have tried to think and act not from positions, but from needs. To be human-centered. To remember that behind every opinion, behind every pain, there is a person.
4
Today, we are still connected across the frontline. It is not easy. But we believe that dialogue is possible. And we continue to do everything we can for peace to come to Ukraine.
